The library at BEPS is information rich with a wide range of carefully selected print and digital resources. The library staff creates a learning environment which provides the students with opportunities to develop their Information Literacy skills, translating resources into Knowledge.

Each grade has a weekly lesson in the library of 45-minutes where over the course of the year, literature skills and information literacy are taught and experienced.

Karen Hitchen Teacher-Librarian - I am currently working at BEPS 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. Two years ago I decided that it was time to become qualified in the area in which I am teaching and so commenced my Masters of Education in Librarianship as a distant education student at CSU. I am learning so much about the role of the library in this era of ready access to digital information and the important role of the teacher librarian in equipping our young students with the skills to recognise when information is needed, how to successfully locate information and then to finally evaluate and employ this information.

Kerri Cicolani Library technician - l have worked at BEPS since 1993 and been the Library tech since 1998. We are an extremely well resourced library with over 14,000 physical items and over 3,000 catalogued websites. l love all aspects of working in the library, especially assisting staff and students in locating relevant resources. l am also the school's webmaster and responsible for the Library webpage.
